Why should we use the Honeymoon Registration?

The Honeymoon Registration specializes in honeymoons. Your personal travel consultant will assist you in picking your honeymoon destination, make all of the travel arrangements, and handle your registration of the most important vacation of your lives…your Honeymoon.

What are the benefits to of Registration?

With the high costs associated with planning your wedding, many couples simply do not have the extra money to take the Honeymoon they really want. In addition, you will not have to worry about returning or exchanging duplicate gifts, or displaying the vase Aunt Gertrude made in her senior's pottery class. The Honeymoon Registry provides a way for your friends and family to make your dream become a reality.

What kind of “packages” do you offer?

A typical land destination includes your airfare, transfers, accommodations, travel insurance, taxes and gratuities. Typical cruise packages will include your airfare (if needed) to the point of embarkation, transfers to/from the ship, the cruise itself, all port charges, taxes and travel insurance. Each one of our Honeymoon packages, though, are customized to your specific dreams and desires. From romantic to remote, exotic to exhilarating, we will work with you to create the Honeymoon of your dreams.

How does a Honeymoon Registry work?

The registry is very similar to a regular wedding registry that you can find in your favorite department store. Rather than the regular gifts, however, your wedding guests will be able to give a financial contribution towards the perfect wedding gift…your Honeymoon. Upon the receipt of your guests’ contribution, we will make a photocopy of their check, record the amount received and deduct it from the balance due, then forward the information to you so that you can personally thank them for their gift.

What happens if we don’t receive enough through the registry to pay for our honeymoon?

Ultimately, you will be responsible for the basic elements of your honeymoon…the airfare, accommodations and taxes. Any items on your optional “wish list”, such as a sunset dinner cruise, helicopter tours, shore excursions, etc., can then either be canceled or you can decide to pay for them yourselves.

Is there any penalties if we sign up, then change our minds or call off the wedding?

For the registry itself, if you decide to cancel before any of the customized work has begun, there is no charge. If you decide to cancel after the cards are printed and/or the web site designed, there is a 50% penalty. If you cancel the honeymoon, penalties will vary depending on the individual companies whom you have booked with, how far in advance you are canceling, and whether or not you have the travel insurance.

Well, what happens to contributions received after our Honeymoon is already paid for?

If there is no longer a balance due, we will continue to accept your gifts on your behalf, then provide you with a check for any additional money received within one week of receipt.

Is there a charge to use the Registry?

The registry itself is free for clients of VacationsAway, however, there is a charge if you wish us to print announcement cards or a 1-page website. Prices depend on the plan you choose. For more information on plans and prices, click here.

How soon before our wedding can we sign up?

Since there are some destinations where you are not able to make reservations more than a year in advance, the only restriction will be how far in advance you are able to actually book your reservations. Most couples sign up 4-6 months before the wedding.
