DAY 1: Visit the nation's capital, with sightseeing including
Ataturk's Memorial and the world class Museum of Ancient Anatolian Civilizations housed in the beautifully
restored 15th century bedesten (covered bazaar). DAY 2: Rise early for a drive to Cappadocia's provincial
capital, stopping en route at a 13th century Caravanserai, a rest house for travelers along the Silk
Road. After a lunch of Turkish specialties, enjoy a tour of Goreme valley with its fantastic fairy
chimneys and cones. Shish kebabs, folk music and belly dancing tonight. DAY 3: Explore the Goreme
Open Air Museum, a monastic complex of rock churches and chapels covered with frescoes. In the
riverside town of Avanos, pottery is the most popular handicraft, and we'll visit one of the studios to see
how it's made. Explore the underground city of Derinkuyu, drive through Soganli, a picturesque valley
with innumerable chapels, churches and tombs, and back to the hotel for dinner. |

Athens, the ancient Greek capital. Visit the Acropolis with its architectural wonders: the

Archeological Museum and recently reopened Benaki Museum.
