Day 1, Fri. DEPART USA.
Day 2, Sat. ARRIVE KILIMANJARO, TANZANIA / ARUSHA.
Upon arrival, you will be met and transferred to Arusha, formerly an old trading post for the local Waarusha and
Wameru tribes.
Day 3, Sun. ARUSHA / LAKE MANYARA.
Take a guided morning walk and then after lunch travel towards Lake Manyara National Park. On the way, stop on the
escarpment to view the Park below. This small Park is a scenic wonderland with beautiful views across the lake into
the Rift Valley. Lions, elephants, hippos, and hundreds of species of birds make their homes here.

Day 4, Mon. LAKE MANYARA / SERENGETI.
Game drive in Lake Manyara National Park, followed by lunch and an afternoon drive to the Serengeti. Covering 5,600
square miles, Serengeti National Park is home to one of the largest and most diverse wild animal populations in
Africa. (B,L,D)
Day 5, Tue. SERENGETI.
A full day of game viewing in the Serengeti. In the language of the Masai, Serengeti means “the endless plains
that go up to the sky.” Here you enjoy sweeping vistas of the savannah. Look for lion, leopard and cheetah. In
addition to the many other animals, the Serengeti offers views of vast herds of wildebeest, Thompson’s gazelle,
and zebra. (B,L,D)
Day 6, Wed. SERENGETI / NGORONGORO.
Drive to Olduvai Gorge, site of Louis and Mary Leakey’s renowned archaeological discoveries. Their findings
include some of man’s earliest known ancestral remains. After a picnic lunch, on to
Ngorongoro. (B,L,D)
Day 7, Thu. NGORONGORO CRATER.
Travel by Land Rover to the crater floor, one of Africa’s most captivating wildlife areas. Descend nearly 2,000
feet into this extinct collapsed volcano to experience spectacular game viewing. Vast herds of zebra, gazelle,
wildebeest and their predators, the big cats, roam the crater floor. Look for the rare black rhino grazing in and
near the lakes. (B,L,D)
Day 8 Fri. NGORONGORO CRATER / TARANGIRE.
Head towards Tarangire National Park, famed for its large elephant population. Afternoon game drive to search out
the elephants and learn how they interact with one another. (B,L,D)
Day 9, Sat. TARANGIRE / ARUSHA / DEPART KILIMANJARO.
This is your last opportunity to photograph the majestic African landscape as you head back to Arusha. After lunch,
enjoy a visit of Arusha town. Your flight back home is not until late this evening, and day rooms have been
arranged for you. Enjoy dinner at your hotel before transferring to the airport for your flight.

Day 10, Sun. ARRIVE USA.
You arrive home today.
Visas are required for Tanzania. Non-U.S. citizens should check with their respective consulate.
It is prudent to consult your physician regarding taking anti-malaria pills.
As some East African roads and game park trails can be very rough, we do not recommend this tour to people with
back problems.
For a good performance it is customary to reward your safari driver/guide with a gratuity of about $3-$4 per day
per tour member. All arrangements in Tanzania are under the management of Ranger Safaris.
