Day 1, Sun. DEPART USA.
Day 2, Mon. ARRIVE LONDON, ENGLAND / DEPART FOR NAIROBI, KENYA.
Passengers with air tickets issued by Brendan will be provided with a day room at a hotel near the airport
to rest until their onward flight to Nairobi.
Day 3, Tue. ARRIVE NAIROBI, KENYA.
Upon arrival, you will be met and transferred to the Safari Park Hotel. The remainder of the day is free to explore
Kenya’s bustling capital city or relax around the hotel pool.
Day 4, Wed. NAIROBI / SAMBURU.
Travel north through the verdant countryside to the town of Karatina, a typical African town where Kikuyu women in
bright kangas attend the market. Next, cross the Equator at Nanyuki arriving at Timau for an alfresco lunch. Then
descend from the lush highlands to the arid Laikipia Plains and the small oasis of the famed Samburu Game Reserve.
Samburu lies on the fringe of the hot and sparsely populated northern region of Kenya. Enjoy a game drive en route
to your lodge. (B,L,D)
Day 5, Thu. SAMBURU.
Samburu is home to a number of unusual animals and birds such as the Grevy zebra, beisa oryx, dik dik, and ostrich.
Also, keep your eyes open for lion, cheetah and antelope on a full day game drive. The Uaso Nyiro River provides
bathing pools for hippos and elephants, and you may even spot a crocodile or a reticulated giraffe. There is also a
spectacular variety of birds. (B,L,D)
Day 6, Fri. SAMBURU / MOUNT KENYA.
Enjoy Samburu once more before you depart for Mt. Kenya. There are spectacular views across the forested slopes to
the snowcapped peaks of this mountain which has served as the inspiration for many writers and artists over the
years. Late afternoon arrival in the Mt. Kenya area. (B,L,D)
Day 7, Sat. MOUNT KENYA / LAKE NAKURU.
Depart for Lake Nakuru and view Nyahururu Falls. Then descend to the floor of the Great Rift Valley and Lake Nakuru
National Park. Afternoon game drive into the park famous for its pink flamingoes and a sanctuary for hundreds of
other species of birds as well as leopard, waterbuck and black rhino. (B,L,D)
Day 8, Sun. LAKE NAKURU / MASAI MARA.
After breakfast, climb the western escarpment of the Great Rift Valley. Head towards the Masai Mara Game Reserve,
arriving at your lodge in time for lunch. Take an afternoon game drive in the reserve, which boasts a rich
concentration of wildlife. (B,L,D)
Day 9, Mon. MASAI MARA. Enjoy a full day of game drives at various intervals, affording opportunities to search for
the “big five” – lions, elephants, buffaloes, rhinos, and leopards. The more adventurous can take an optional
hot air balloon ride to see the park from a bird’s eye view. (B,L,D)
Day 10, Tue. MASAI MARA / NAIROBI.
Today you say farewell to Masai Mara and return to Nairobi. Enjoy a visit to the Karen Blixen Museum and the
Giraffe Centre. Dinner tonight is at the Nyama Choma restaurant. (B,D)
Day 11, Wed. DEPART NAIROBI. The day is at leisure to gather your final impressions of Africa. Transfer to the
airport for your departure flight. Rooms are reserved until 6 p.m. (B)
Day 12, Thu. YOUR HOMEBOUND FLIGHT ARRIVES TODAY.

As of January 1, 2003, a visa is required for Kenya and Tanzania. Non-U.S. citizens should check with their respective
consulate.
It is prudent to consult your physician regarding taking anti-malaria pills. Proof is needed of yellow fever
vaccination for travel between Tanzania and Kenya.
As some East African roads and game park trails can be very rough, we do not recommend this tour to people with
back problems.
For a good performance it is customary to reward your safari driver/guide with a gratuity of about $3-$4 per day
per tour member. All arrangements in East Africa are under the management of Pollman’s Tours and Safaris and
Ranger Safaris.

Days 1 to 10, Sun. to Tue.

Day 11, Wed. NAIROBI / LAKE MANYARA.
Fly to Kilimanjaro (included) and transfer to Arusha for lunch. On the way to Lake Manyara National Park, stop on
an escarpment to view the Park below. This small Park is a scenic wonderland with views across the lake into the
Rift Valley. (B,L,D)
Day 12, Thu. MANYARA / SERENGETI.
Enjoy a game drive before moving on to Serengeti National Park. Covering 5,600 square miles, the Serengeti is home
to one of the largest and most diverse wild animal populations in Africa. (B,L,D)
Day 13, Fri. SERENGETI.
Delight in a full day of game viewing. More than two million wildebeest, half a million Thompson’s gazelle and a
quarter of a million zebra gather for annual migrations, attracting attention from their predators – lion,
leopard, cheetah and hyena. (B,L,D)
Day 14, Sat. SERENGETI / NGORONGORO.
Morning excursion to Olduvai Gorge, site of Louis and Mary Leakey’s renowned archaeological discoveries. Their
findings include some of man’s earliest known ancestral remains. Continue to Ngorongoro. (B,L,D)
Day 15, Sun. NGORONGORO CRATER.
Descend by Land Rover nearly 2,000 feet into this extinct collapsed volcano to experience spectacular game viewing.
Vast herds of zebra, wildebeest, gazelle, and their predators roam the crater floor. Look for the rare black rhino
grazing near the lakes. (B,L,D)
Day 16, Mon. NGORONGORO CRATER / ARUSHA / NAIROBI.
Leave Ngorongoro this morning and enjoy lunch in Arusha. Fly back to Nairobi (included) where you have a day room
at a hotel reserved for you until your evening departure. (B,L)
Day 17, Tue. ARRIVE USA.
You arrive home today.
