Check with us at the time of booking for the latest passport, visa and health requirements for Kenya and Tanzania. As of Jan. 1, 2003, a visa is required for Kenya and Tanzania. Non-U.S. citizens should check with their respective consulate.

It is prudent to consult your physician regarding taking anti-malaria pills. Proof is needed of yellow fever vaccination for travel between Tanzania and Kenya.
As some East African roads and game park trails can be very rough, we do not recommend this tour to people with back problems.

Itinerary

Day 1, Sat. BOARD YOUR OVERNIGHT TRANSATLANTIC FLIGHT.

Day 2, Sun. ARRIVE LONDON, ENGLAND / DEPART FOR NAIROBI, KENYA.
Passengers with air tickets issued by Brendan will be provided with a day room at a hotel near the airport to rest until their onward flight to Nairobi.

Day 3, Mon. ARRIVE NAIROBI, KENYA.
Upon arrival in Kenya’s modern capital, you will be transferred from the airport to the Safari Park Hotel. Remainder of the day free.

Day 4, Tue. NAIROBI / MASAI MARA.
After breakfast, depart for the Masai Mara Game Reserve. Drive through the spectacular Great Rift Valley, arriving at your lodge in time for lunch. This afternoon, enjoy a game drive in Masai Mara National Park which boasts the richest concentration of wildlife in Kenya. Its savannah plains are famous for the annual migration of wildebeest in search of the best grazing areas. (B,L,D)

Day 5, Wed. MASAI MARA NATIONAL RESERVE.
A full day game viewing in the Mara. The “Big Five” – lion, elephant, rhino, leopard and buffalo – may be seen, as well as the cheetah. (B,L,D)

Day 6, Thu. MASAI MARA / LAKE NAKURU.
This morning, travel to Lake Nakuru, considered the finest place on earth for birdwatching. See cormorants, pelicans, hornbills, and the most spectacular of wildlife spectacles – thousands of birds, mainly flamingos, lining the banks of the lake, stretching out across the water in a pink haze. After lunch, enjoy a game drive in this relatively small park which has been designated a rhino sanctuary and one of the few places in Kenya where one is almost certain to see these endangered animals. (B,L,D)

Day 7, Fri. LAKE NAKURU / NAIROBI / AMBOSELI.
Head back to Nairobi for lunch, then continue on to Amboseli National Park. Amboseli is situated at the foot of Mount Kilimanjaro, towering 19,430 feet above the plains. Your game viewing starts here en route to the lodge. (B,L,D)

Day 8, Sat. AMBOSELI NATIONAL PARK.
A full day of game viewing beginning with an early morning game drive, an excellent time, when the slopes of majestic Kilimanjaro are normally at their most picturesque. Keep a watch out for giraffes, cape buffalo and lions today. Amboseli is also renowned for its superb viewing of elephants. (B,L,D)

Day 9, Sun. AMBOSELI / ARUSHA / LAKE MANYARA, TANZANIA.
Cross the border into Tanzania at Namanga, then on to Arusha for lunch at Mountain Village. On the way, stop on the escarpment to view the Park below. This small Park is a scenic wonderland with views across the lake into the Rift Valley. Lions, elephants, hippos, and hundreds of species of birds make their homes here. (B,L,D)

Day 10, Mon. LAKE MANYARA / SERENGETI.
Tour Lake Manyara National Park this morning, then on to the Serengeti. Covering 5,600 square miles, Serengeti National Park is home to one of the largest and most diverse wild animal populations on earth. (B,L,D)

Day 11, Tue. SERENGETI.
Delight in a full day of game viewing in the Serengeti. More than two million wildebeest, half a million Thompson’s gazelle and a quarter of a million zebra gather for annual migrations, attracting a great deal of attention from their predators – lion, leopard, cheetah and hyena. (B,L,D)

Day 12, Wed. SERENGETI / NGORONGORO.
Morning excursion to Olduvai Gorge, site of Louis and Mary Leakey’s renowned archaeological discoveries. Their findings include some of man’s earliest known ancestral remains. Continue to Ngorongoro. (B,L,D)

Day 13, Thu. NGORONGORO CRATER.
Travel by Land Rover to the crater floor, one of Africa’s most captivating wildlife areas. Descend nearly 2,000 feet into this extinct collapsed volcano to experience spectacular game viewing. Vast herds of zebra, wildebeest, gazelle, and their predators roam the crater floor. Look for the rare black rhino grazing in and near the lakes. Crater tours have maximum of 5 passengers per vehicle. (B,L,D)

Leave Ngorongoro this morning and start for Nairobi. Enjoy lunch in Arusha, then cross back into Kenya. Tonight join your traveling companions for a festive farewell dinner at the famous Nyama Choma Restaurant. (B,L,D)
